March 11th Already?

Where has all the time gone? It seems that It was just Christmas, now it's almost Easter!

Last weekend Cori went and spent the night with someone besides grandparents! I was a little nervous at first but it all turned out okay! We had tickets to the Houston Rodeo and to see Jason Aldean and my mom already had dinner plans with her friends, and James' mom was going to the rodeo as well so Cori went to spend the night with James' brother and SIL, and her two cousins Asher and Emma! She went over there early on Saturday morning and went to watch Asher play in his baseball game. After the game they played at the park for the rest of the day! Amanda said Cori had so much fun and played so hard! She had a bath dinner and was asleep for the night by 6:45. Sunday she woke up with a little sunburn but nothing to major! I'm glad she gets to spend time with her cousins!
She swings and says "WEEEE"
Asher and Emma pushing Cori around at the park
My poor Missy got some sun!! I think this was right before she went to bed, she looks soo pooped!

Sunday we went to the park again to watch James play softball. While we were there we went to the little playground area. Cori loves to swing and slide. She cried when I made her get in the car to go home!!!! She loves to be outside.

On a not-so-good note - we found out that my grandmother, who has been fighting cancer for years now has kidney damage and only working 40% of what it should. Apparently the Chemo treatments have damaged her only kidney. We are not sure what the next steps are at this point as the information isn't very full - my mom plans to go with her to her next dr. appointment to find more information out and ask the questions we all have!

Also, I got news yesterday that my uncle Delroy, my dad's older brother passed away. I haven't seen him in years and have no relationship with him at all as he has been in and out of prison my entire life. We don't know the story on his death either. They are performing an autopsy on him today. They say he collapsed in his cell and was life flighted to a hospital in Houston, from Huntsville. I think there is a small viewing/memorial on Saturday.

Update on Cori

My missy has an ear infection! She is on antibiotics now, and we haven't had a fever in almost 24 hours so we are doing good! I hate when she is sick - hopefully this isn't the start of re-occurring ear infections!!! That's all I have for now, just wanted to update!

Houston Zoo!

James, Cori and I packed up and went to the zoo on Saturday! We had such a great time and the weather was PERFECT for the zoo! Nice and Sunny, and about 75 degrees all day with a nice breeze! Cori was still a little small to really enjoy her time there, but just being outside and out walking around was enough for her! We took lots of pictures and saw all the animals!! Cori's favorite part seemed to be the reptile room - she was up against the glass looking at the turtles, trying to touch the snakes and alligators! No fear! We rode on the carousel and she enjoyed that too! My favorite part was seeing her get so excited to touch the goats in the petting zoo! They had brushes to brush the animals, and she did such a great job! When we entered the zoo, they have photographers there to take you picture as a family! It was such a cute picture, I couldn't help myself but to spend $15 (OUTRAGEOUS) on it! I will scan and add it later! Here are a few pictures from our trip!
Now for the bad part of our weekend! Saturday evening Cori started with a low fever and being really lazy. I just figured it was from her big day outside at the zoo, and only about 30 mins of nap, all day. We were at my brothers for dinner so I just put her in the guest room to go to bed. She was fine and slept all night over there (we all just spent the night) but Sunday morning, she crawled in bed with James and I and threw up all over me! We decided to pack up and go home (it was early, around 6:45am) she threw up once more when we got out of the truck, in the driveway. I thought maybe she had a bug. Her fever was on and off yesterday but she was playing and acting like nothing was wrong. She had 2 very long naps yesterday so I figured she was just catching up on some sleep! Well bed time came around, no fever so I sent her to bed. She woke up crying around 2am so I went in to check on her, and she was burning up! Her temp was 103. I changed her out of her warm fleece pajamas into a cotton t shirt and gave her some more Tylenol....checked on her about 3am and her temp was down to 99. When we got up at 7, the first reading I got on the thermometer was 104 - I was in shock. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that is TOOOO high! I looked online for what temp was dangerous for babies and they said 103 was high, so I fed her more Tylenol and stayed home with her today. I got her a Dr. appointment for this afternoon. I read that high unexplained fevers can mean some type of internal infection rather it be a bladder, or possibly a UTI. I started reading about the UTI's and that sounds like what she may have. I feel so horrible for her, I know she isn't feeling good, but she can't tell me. Hopefully the Dr. can fix her up...I hate giving her so much Tylenol! I'll update this afternoon or tomorrow oh what the Dr. says!

Laughter & Hockey

I do not know how I got so lucky to have such a happy, healthy baby! She brings us so many smiles and joy!! Here is a quick video of her riding her 4wheeler Santa brought her! Her laughter is Priceless!

On another note, I went to my first Areos Hockey game last nigh! It was sooo much fun! My brother, who is now working for Toyota has great hookups for any event going on at the Toyota Center! We had special seats in a huge suite with free drinks and private seats! It was really fun! The arena wasn't really filled so we were able to go down lower to get front row seats up against the glass - it was so exciting to have the players slamming into the glass, right in front of us! We lost, but it was still fun! Here is another video, of a score! You can hear can hear the die hard fans yelling "SHOOT THE PUCK" and then everyone bangs on the glass when they score!!!

This was taken from our original, suite seats!

Front Row Seats!!!

I can't wait to go back!!!

Cookoff, Superbowl, Birthday, Valentines, Oh My!

So last weekend (2/5) was the Humble Rodeo Cookoff! I went out to support our friends, Caddy Shack Cookers and hang out!! The food was SO yummy and the drinks weren't bad either! We had a lot of friends and family up there (although James wasn't able to go, he had to be up early Saturday for work) to hang out with so it was a lot of fun!!
Saturday (2/6) Bridget and a few other friends went to see Dear John. It was such a good movie, heavy on my emotions though! I cried like a baby through most of the movie. I haven't cried in a movie in a long time!
Sunday (2/7) We went and had Cori's Valentine pictures done!! It was also the Superbowl! We had a party at the house to watch the game. I became a bandwagon fan of the Saints and to my surprise they won! It was a fun game, even though I never watch football! James cooked hot dogs for everyone so it was nice to hang out. That was a busy buys weekend! Monday came fast and early!!
Isn't she the cutest?
This one is my favorite!!
When did she get so big??

This this past week was pretty eventful as well!
I turned 24 on Thursday (2/11). It was just another day though! Now that I have Cori, birthday's are for her! I went to work as usual and then later that night, Yaya watched Cori so James and I could go have dinner and a few margaritas! It was nice to just have time with my husband - he makes me laugh so much!! My boss brought me a cake and a gift card to Pappas so that was exciting too!
Friday (2/12) Another trip to the dermatologist for Cori too - I have HAD IT with this spot on her back that will not go away. I can not afford more prescriptions that don't work, and copay's to see a doctor that tells you the same thing as last time! I'm getting aggressive towards this spot now. I bought her new soap, and lotion to use, clothes detergent and these huge waterproof band aids and I'm piling on the ointment and taping her up! I don't think she'll be able to get these band aids off! The small ones she gets off easily so we'll see with the big ones, so far so good! I am so tired of packing away NEW clothes that she's never worn and outgrown b/c I have to keep her looking like a scrub in onsies, so she doesn't scratch! Prayers for the stubborn spot on her back are appreciated! She now has a new spot on her shoulder....ahhhh it's never ending!
Saturday (2/13) was an awesome day! This is the day we celebrated Valentines (as a whole family! Well, minus Cori.....she went and spent the night with James' mom) We made reservations at HB Steakhouse - Japanese Hibachi style food! They cooked for us on the table we were sitting at. It was SO delicious, expensive, but so worth it. My daddy paid for everyone's dinner! Then, we all (myself, James, my brother, SIL, mom and dad) headed downtown to see STOMP. That was amazing! I went a long time ago when we went to New York but I had forgot just how fun it was! The whole time, I was wishing I could do something like that for a living - the people on stage looked like they were having so much fun! We then headed back to our side of town and found a small taven in Old Town Humble to have a few drinks at. Its not often that I get to hang out with my mom in the night life because she usually has Cori when we go out - so it was fun! That place got a little boring so we went to Mulligans for some Karaoke - well we just watch the karaoke....It was fun! I had a bad headache and was exhausted so we snuck out early and went home to get in bed!
Sunday (2/14) was so nice! I slept in until NOON - I haven't done that in years!!! Got up did a little bit of laundry and then my little Valentine came home!!! I missed her so much! Its so different when she goes to James' mom - she seems so far away. My mom lives 3 houses down so when she's over there it doesn't even feel like she's gone. James cooked us steaks for dinner last night and we hung out around the house and watched some tv. Monday morning came toooooo soon today! Oh and btw, I think I saw a ghost in my bedroom this morning....seriously. I'll write a whole blog for that one!

I can't believe I didn't take many pictures this week!

Its been a while!

I have a lot to update.

Last weekend was not a good weekend for us. Cori was sick all weekend and Monday. She couldn't keep anything down and just kept throwing up. Poor baby, I feel so bad for her because she can't warn us. We took her to the dr. on Monday and he said she had a stomach bug and it would pass on its own. She stayed home from Daycare on Monday. She never had a fever but the vomiting and diarrhea was enough for me to keep her home. She's feeling much better now!

on the 27th, Sydney Wyckoff was born. My childhood friend Ashley and her husband Chet brought their first baby girl into the world. She is soooooo adorable and I can't wait to meet her. They live in Fl. so it will be a while I imagine that I'll get to hold her and kiss her...so Ash...you better keep up with your blog and keep the pictures coming!!!

Friday (1/29) was James' 27th Birthday! James and I both took vacation days to hang out with each other! We started off by Taking Cori to the dr. for her 15 month check up. She is getting so big!!! 25 lbs already! Dr. said she is perfect and her not eating is not a problem. Cori went to daycare after that! We then headed to the post office to renew mine and get James a passport for our cruise! I was so surprised how nice the guy at the post office was!!! He was such a happy guy for his job! After we left there we went to the mall to see Avatar in 3D - such a great movie although I could only watch about 1/2. Stupid motion sickness. I can't wait to see it in full on dvd. It was fun to spend time just James and I. He had friends over for his bday that night, and Cori and I just went to bed early!!! I love early bed nights!

Us seeing Avatar in 3D!

Saturday, I stayed home in bed most of the day. I was feeling really icky. Sore throat and head ache. I was hoping it was strep, but no one else in my family seems to be bothered by it. I've lost my voice too! It was nice to stay in my jammers alll day long! We went to my brothers Saturday night for dinner, and it turned into a bunch of friends hanging out! I went away from my diet with my Bud Lite Lime....it was fun at the time, but man, I feel so guilty now! Gotta get back on track. Speaking of Diet, I've lost 7 lbs so far....still working hard and have a long way to go!

Sunday was pretty un-eventful too! I tried my hand at some cabbage soup. It was soooo delicious! I made enough to feed my entire family - everyone really enjoyed it and it was super yummy and healthy!!! I even have lefts overs here at work with me for lunch today!

So today starts the month of LOVE, and my Birthday!!! I'll be 24 in 11 days... My mom got us all tickets to see Stomp on the 13th so I am really looking forward to it!!!

I think that is all for now....if something exciting happens, I'll update =)
